Rich was instrumental in the development of
The Slammer and the B & L Baits Jig Design,
suggesting the wider gap hooks that made the Pro Head Jig
an incomparable and necessary weapon in his fishing arsenal.
His color preferences in the custom baits are still seen today,
primarily in the lizard and tube series.
Fishing for 30 years, his records still stand as testament to his
winning edge in dozens of tournaments, leading him to win the
B.A.S.S. Eastern Divison Wrangler Angler Crown in 1997.
